Family Fun! Fall Portraits | Huntersville, NC Family Photographer

Before the wonderfully fun chaos of the Thanksgiving holiday I met up with a neighbor friend to do their holiday/fall family session.  I hadn’t seen little Miss M since the beginning of summer and couldn’t believe how much she’s grown from being more of a baby into a talking toddler.  She was so sweet with her baby doll “Grey” and giving her mommy and daddy hugs and kisses.  She was a ham too!  SO much fun.  And I loved getting some great shots of just Mom and Dad too. <3  Here are some of my favorites from their session…

Mother, Daughter and Furbabies Too | Huntersville, NC Family Photographer

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing a friend with her adorable daughter and 2 furbabies.  It was pretty cold but we knocked it out and it was easy… the bond between this mother-daughter duo is undeniable.  Mom is beautiful and her daughter really is her “mini-me.”  Z  is so adorable and mature beyond her years and I couldn’t help but capture it all from behind my lens.  And those pups!  I love incorporating the pets into family portraits as they really should be included in my opinion.  Their gallery is done and here are just a few of my favorites…

How to get 4 kids to all look and smile at the camera? | Huntersville, NC Family Photographer

This week I had the pleasure of capturing another good friend’s kiddos in our neighborhood.  Though I see them often, the last time I photographed them was for their baptism last summer.  It was literally last minute planning so I brought my distractions… I mean kids… I mean assistants along for the mini-session and we knocked it out.  4 kids plus my 2 tagging along and we were still done in record time.  So how do you get 4 kids looking and smiling at the camera for a winning holiday card photo?  Hire me LOL!  The full gallery is done and here are some of my faves…

Holiday Card Photos! | Huntersville, NC Child Photographer

It’s that time of year!  The leaves are gorgeous, the afternoon lighting yummy, and the temps mild… time for family fall photos for our annual Christmas card!  This year we have the new addition of Macy Mae so I was especially excited to do this session.  The best part?  All of this gorgeousness is right in our own neighborhood.  Got the kids ready, puppy leashed and simply went for a nice walk!  Then after we were finished with the professional shots we stopped off at our playground for play and more informal shots.  Happy kids, happy pup, happy Mom and Dad!  Here are just a few of my initial faves and I can’t wait to process the full gallery!

So We Got a Puppy! | Huntersville, NC Family and Pet Photographer

Some of you may recall that we lost our dog Mason almost one year ago from THIS post and 3 years prior that that we lost our Maggie.  That was a whole lot of heartbreak and we took our time to grieve.  Then this past summer I met a woman through my yoga teacher training who introduced me to Ironstone Lane Rescue (Like their facebook page HERE)  and she showed me photos of mixed breed German Shepherd puppies that were going to be up for adoption.  I fell in love and it seemed meant to be as my childhood dog was a German Shepherd.   My dad named her Ghaki because at the age of 2 when we got her that is how I pronounced “doggie.”  So one weekend while I was in teacher training my husband took the kids to meet the litter and report back to me.  They had fallen in love with Reba who was the smallest, fluffiest and most laid back.  They couldn’t stop talking about her.  That was that!  We adopted her when she was ready to go to her forever home and I picked her up.  I fell in love immediately and we renamed her Macy Mae.  It has been about 3 months since she came to us and it feels like I’ve always known her.  She loves my kids just the way Ghaki loved me.  She sleeps outside of their bedroom doors at night and bathes them in kisses every chance she gets.  She keeps me company all day long and cuddles with my husband when he gets home from work.  I couldn’t imagine not having her and our family feels complete again.  She is trouble too of course but is well worth it!  Just take a look at these photos and you’ll see (although if you are friends with me on facebook or follow me at tylerplankyoga on instagram you likely are tired of seeing so many pics LOL)…
